Anantnag, June 23: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, S F Hamid on Friday chaired a meeting to review the arrangements for the upcoming celebration of Eid ul Adha. He passed a slew of directions to officers for ensuring all necessary facilities to the public including the availability of sacrificial animals at designated locations and the essentials in the market, besides the identification of sites for sacrificial animals.
He directed to constitute market checking teams to keep prices under control and prevent overcharging by traders to be headed by Tehsildars. He called for ensuring a smooth supply of electricity, water, traffic, and sanitation on the eve of Eid-ul-Adha across the district, especially at all shrines including Ziyarat Sharief Kabamarg, Aishmuqam, Bumzoo, Khiram, etc. He also instructed the availability of an adequate number of buses during the Eid and identification of specified parking areas.
The DC was impressed with the placement of sanitary workers for cleanliness and sanitation in and around the periphery of shrines and Eidgahs and other major locations in the district. He instructed for the deployment of teams of doctors and paramedics along with ambulances across all prominent locations.
