Srinagar, July 6: Marking the solemn observance of Ashura, Ehsaas Foundation, a non-governmental organisation working in the field of social welfare in Jammu and Kashmir, organised a Sabeel-e-Hussain at Alamgari Bazar, Srinagar to honour the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (AS) and his companions in Karbala.A statement issued here said that the sabeel (refreshment stall) served water, sherbet, and other refreshments to hundreds of mourners and passers-by who had gathered to pay homage. The initiative was aimed at symbolising the values of compassion, sacrifice, and selfless service associated with Imam Hussain (AS). Volunteers from the foundation were actively engaged throughout the day, ensuring smooth arrangements and offering support to mourners taking part in the Ashoora processions. Speaking on the occasion, members of the Ehsaas Foundation said, “This initiative is a humble tribute to the spirit of Karbala. Imam Hussain (AS) taught humanity the timeless values of justice, truth, and resistance against oppression. Through acts of service like this, we seek to keep that spirit alive.” The foundation also extended prayers for peace, unity, and the well-being of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming its commitment to social causes and humanitarian service.
