While Judo U-17 boys will be held at Indoor Sports Complex Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu from November 7 to November 11, 2024, Fencing U-14 and U-17 boys and girls will be held at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu from November 12 to November 21.

Meanwhile, in a meeting at his office chambers, Rajinder Singh Tara, Director General Youth Services and Sports served strict directions to the officers with regard to holding these sporting extravaganzas in a most befitting manner.
He said developing top class sports infrastructure and streamlining the sports calendar and activities would be the top priority for the Department of Youth Services and Sports.
“Our focus should be to nurture youth and to develop sporting excellence. For doing so, the sportspersons would be provided with the best sports ecosystem so that they can realise their full potential,” said Tara.
Later-on, Tara visited Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu and reviewed the arrangements put in place for the Fencing tournament.
He was accompanied by Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports (Central), Jitender Mishra; Director Physical Education and Sports University of Jammu, Daud Iqbal; Former International Fencer and Coach Rashid Ahmed; Former International Fencer and Fencing Coach of Youth Services and Sports Department, Ujjawal Gupta and National medallist, Abdul Qadir.

It is pertinent to mention here that J&K has won a good haul of medals in all four disciplines at the National scene.
