Driver injured in road accident at Ranga Morh, Zojila Pass

Ganderbal, April 12: A driver was injured in a road accident on Saturday at Ranga Morh, a dangerous curve along the treacherous Zojila Pass on the Srinagar-Leh highway.
The injured has been identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Wani, 36, son of Abdul Ahad and a resident of Charisharief in Budgam district. According to officials, the accident occurred when the vehicle bearing registration number JK13F/7235 skidded off the road at a sharp bend near Ranga Morh—an area frequently flagged for its accident-prone nature due to its steep and slippery terrain.
Wani was immediately rushed to the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Sonamarg for initial treatment and later referred to SKIMS Soura in Srinagar for specialized care. Authorities have once again urged commuters and drivers to remain extremely cautious while traversing the Zojila stretch, particularly during adverse weather conditions and sharp turns.
