District Volleyball championship begins in Shopian

Srinagar, Sep 27: District Shopian Volleyball championship being organised by the Volleyball players of the district Shopian under the aegis of the Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir begins on Tuesday.
As per the officials a total of 16 teams including 12 boy’s and four girl’s teams are participating in the championship.
In the first match, Valley SpikersWoyen beat Attack line Wachawalan by 2-1 sets in boy’s category.
Nagbal Volleyball Club beat Red Line Mogalpora by 2-0 sets, Royal Club Aglar beat Hard Hitters Nowgam by 2-1 sets in two other matches.
Earlier, the championship was declared open by the Chief Guest Manzoor Ahmad, ADDC Shopian in presence of Prof. Bashir Ahmad Principal I.M GDC Shopian and Nilofer Habib Secretary Volleyball Association, Kulgam.
The other prominent personalities present on the occasion were Prof. Tariq Ahmad Mir, Prof. Umar, Syed Latif, PTI GDC Shopian. The championship is being sponsored by the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council.
