Srinagar, Jan 07: In a remarkable display of community spirit and commitment to healthcare, a blood donation camp jointly organized by District Hospital Bandipora and NHPC Bandipora witnessed an overwhelming response on Sunday.
Held at NHPC premises, the event saw active participation from various sectors, resulting in the collection of 50 pints of blood to support patients in critical need.
The camp was inaugurated by the Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, who was joined by the Chief Medical Officer Bandipora, Medical Superintendent of DH Bandipora, and General Manager NHPC.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing healthcare challenges, particularly the pressing demand for blood during emergencies.
“Blood donation is a noble act that saves countless lives. I commend the efforts of DH Bandipora, NHPC, and the participants who have set an inspiring example for others,” DC Bandipora said.
Members of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), NHPC employees, district administration officials, and public volunteers enthusiastically contributed to the cause. Their participation was hailed as a testament to the Public commitment to humanitarian efforts.
The General Manager NHPC expressed gratitude to the donors and assured continued support for such initiatives. He highlighted NHPC’s dedication to supporting healthcare and other social causes in the district.
Medical Superintendent of DH Bandipora, Dr Masarat Iqbal Wani said that the collected blood will benefit patients requiring emergency care. “This initiative will help ensure no patient suffers due to a lack of blood availability,” he said, emphasizing the importance of regular blood donation drives.
The event concluded with a collective resolve to organize more such camps in the future, raising awareness about the life-saving impact of voluntary blood donation.
