Kupwara, Aug 10: District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara convened a meeting to review the progress of water supply schemes approved under the District Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM). It was reported that out of 157,382 households, 126,693 have been connected with Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) in the district.
The meeting revealed that 251 works were tendered across PHE Division Handwara, PHE Kupwara, and SSD Tangdar, with work started on 235 projects and 83 completed. Among the Dug well works, 10 out of 14 projects have been completed, and 17 out of 37 Bore-wells have been finalized.
Regarding Electro-Mechanical Schemes, 13 out of 30 schemes have been completed. The DDC stressed the importance of completing ongoing works within the stipulated timeframe, setting specific timelines for various projects. The DDC also instructed concerned officers to conduct joint inspections to resolve bottlenecks and ensure no disruption in the implementation of JJM schemes.
The meeting also reviewed the 14 completed and commissioned water supply schemes in the district, including WSS Machill, WSS Ganie Mohalla Mohigund Lalpora, WSS Darpora Lolab, and several others.
