Udhampur, Jan 27: Vice Chairperson DDC, Udhampur Juhi Manhas Pathania Thursday participated in the Republic Day function in Ayesha International School, Khoon and hoisted the Tricolour in presence of the school Principal, Dr Silvam Pujari and Chairman Reham Din.
The ceremony began with the hoisting of the Tricolor by the chief guest Juhi Manhas Pathania. The School echoed with patriotic fervour as the children danced to the tunes of patriotism, enacted skits, sang patriotic songs dressed in tri-coloured clothes.
The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood.
The Chief Guest, in her address, highlighted the significance of the day and made the children aware that the future of their country lies in their hands. Hence they need to study well now and inculcate good values in life, which will help them to be good citizens of the country.
“Our national heroes and soldiers sacrificed their lives to bring freedom. Let us promise to follow their footsteps and be successful in everything we do It is your responsibility to take our country forward towards progress” she urged the students .She further added that we Indians can keep our national spirit alive by recalling the past to improve our present and future and we should be true Indians in words, action and thoughts and be worthy of our country.
“We live in a democratic country where people enjoy their fundamental rights. In society, we have different castes, religions, and many other things that separate us but on a broader picture, we all are Indians. India is a land that is a great example of “Unity in Diversity” she added. The beauty of our country is we have different languages and we also have conflicts and differences but on national festivals, we all stand as a united force.
Juhi inspired the students with her motivational words and told  them  to abide by the constitution of their motherland and fulfill all their duties as responsible citizens. She further said that no celebration is complete without making us feel proud of the fact that, “Saare Jaahan se Acchha Hindustan Hamara”.
