DC Udhampur presides over Public Outreach Program at Kulwanta

Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur, Saloni Rai today presided over weekly Block Diwas Public outreach camp at Panchayat Ghar Keya after a tour of at Block Kulwanta of Tehsil Ramnagar and listened to public issues.

BDC Chairman, Sushma Devi; DDC member, Ashri Devi; ADDC, Ghan Sham Singh; SDM, Ramnagar Shishir Gupta; ACD, Dr. Ranjeet Singh Kotwal and other senior officers, along with PRI members and a large number of people hailing from adjoining panchayats  attended the camp. 

They highlighted several demands and problems, seeking  repair  of the Ramnagar Dudu-Basantgarh road, adequate staff in health centers and educational institutions, conversion of Ayurvedic Hospital Kulwanta into an Allopathy Hospital, electrification of   remaining households in the area, construction of a bridge over Nallah Ujh to connect the Silla area, registration of left-out cases under the PMAY scheme, upgradation of Government High School Kulwanta to GHSS, upgradation of High School Chigla Balota to a higher secondary level, promotion of the area on the tourism map, providing drinking water facilities in R C Peak, addressing unscheduled power cuts in Block Kulwanta and the construction of a Sports Stadium in Kulwanta.

The DC emphasized that the main objective of this Block Diwas is to gain a firsthand appraisal of important grassroots-level issues. She stated that such platforms enable the District administration to understand the multifaceted problems faced by the general public. These outreach camps facilitate bringing governance to the doorstep of the public, thus improving the public service delivery mechanism.

During the program, many grievances were redressed on the spot through interventions and directions to officers from concerned departments. The DC urged officers to make people aware of income-generating and beneficiary-oriented schemes launched by the Government of India and the UT Government.
