DC Srinagar reviews scheme wise performance of rural development sector

Srinagar, June 13: In order to assess the scheme-wise performance of Rural Development Sector and review the implementation of the schemes under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen)-II in Srinagar Panchayats, the Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Tuesday chaired a meeting here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex.
 At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner was given a detailed appraisal about the schemes being executed under the RDD sector in all Panchayat Blocks of Srinagar District including Physical and Financial progress of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen)-II, CD- Panchayats, progress of e-tendering under Area Development Programme(DDC, BDC, PRI Grants), progress of e-tendering under Aspiration Block Development Programme, Aspiration Panchayat Development Scheme, Progress of MGNREGA and PMAY(G).
 On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the Officers to prioritize implementation of all schemes and of Rural Development and  lay focused thrust on expediting the works being executed under Swachh Bharat Mission(SBM)-Grameen and Aspiration Block Development Programme(ABDP) in all Panchayats of the District.
 Stressing on accelerating the pace of all developmental works, the DC directed the implementation agencies to redouble their efforts to ensure cent percent saturation of all the deliverables under the programme in all Panchayats in all 4 blocks of the District.
 The DC sets a timeline of June 30, 2023 for achieving 100% targets under Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen)-II   so that tangible results are achieved on the ground for overall benefit of the general public.
 With regard to works being executed under Aspirational Block Development Programme, the DC said ABDP  is a game-changer in empowering people of  rural areas and urged the officers to ensure its effective implementation.
While reviewing implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen)-II 2022-23, the DC was apprised that out of 20 CSCs Tendered, construction of 16 CSCs has been completed with an expenditure of Rs 48 lakh, while work on remaining 4 CSCs will be completed shortly.
 Regarding construction of IHHLs, it was given out that against the target of 479 IHHLs, as many as 472 IHHL have been physically/financially completed and also Geo tagged and work is going on left out 7 IHHLs.
 The DC also took status of segregation sheds and was informed that out of allotted 13 segregation sheds tendered out, 9(nine) sheds have been completed at a cost of Rs 20 lakh.
 With regard to the construction of Individual Soakage Pits, the DC was also informed that as many as 5982 number of Individual soakage pits have been taken up in all Blocks of the District out of which 2947 Individual Soakage Pits have been completed while construction work on 3035 Individual Soakage Pits in under progress.
 Similarly, works related to construction of a total 10 number of Community Soakage Pits Tendered out, 4(four) Pits have been completed.
 The DC was further informed that the work for construction of 4689 number of Individual Compost pits has been taken up in the Srinagar Panchayats and as many as 1105 pits have been constructed while work is under progress to construct remaining pits.
Likewise, Community Compost Pits have also been completed in the Panchayats of Srinagar District.
While reviewing the status of Individual Household Assets, the DC was informed that 4690 Assets have been created.
 The progress of achieving the target of ODF Plus villages, the DC was informed that all 26 villages of Srinagar District have been declared ODF Plus and out of 26 villages 9 villages have been kept under Aspiring, 10 villages under Rising and 7 villages under Model categories.
 During the meeting, the progress achieved under MGNREGA and man days generated so far in all 4 Panchayat Blocks of the District was also discussed.
 The DC also reviewed physical and financial progress made under Area Development Fund(District Capex)-2023-243. He was informed that as many as 497 works have been kept in the plan for the current fiscal by RDD and other allied Departments in Srinagar District. He was also informed that 420 numbers of estimates have been framed so far and Administrative approval for 201 works has been received while tenders have been floated for 117 works.
  While reviewing status of the works taken up in Harwan, Khonmoh, Srinagar and Qamarwari Panchayat Blocks the DC was informed that 664 developmental works have been targeted for financial year 2023-24 in Srinagar Panchayats and as many as 21 works have been completed out of 57 works started as on date.
