DC Sgr lauds Khyber Cement’s Community, CSR initiatives

Srinagar, Dec 16: Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Bilal Mohiudin Saturday visited Khyber Industries in Khonmoh, Srinagar to review the company’s mining operations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
A statement issued here said that the visit highlighted Khyber Cement’s ongoing efforts toward sustainable development and community welfare.
“During the visit, Team Khyber briefed Dr. Mohiuddin and other dignitaries on the company’s CSR projects, emphasizing their commitment to fostering sustainable growth and improving the lives of local communities,” the statement said.
It said that Hamida Akhter, General Manager of the District Industries Center, Srinagar, also praised Khyber Cement’s significant contributions during the event. As part of the visit, Dr. Mohiuddin and Riaz Trumboo participated in a tree plantation drive, reaffirming Khyber Cement’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
Over the years, the company has undertaken various green initiatives, including large-scale tree plantations, lavender plantations, and the organization of medical camps. “Dr. Mohiuddin commended Khyber Cement for its impactful CSR efforts and innovative green initiatives. He acknowledged the company’s role in empowering local communities and fostering positive societal change in Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement said.
Speaking on the occasion, Riaz Trumboo, Director Khyber Industries Private limited said: “Our vision extends beyond business success. We are committed to creating a better future for generations to come. This can only be achieved through collaboration with stakeholders and meaningful contributions to society.” Khyber Cement continues to align its growth with the well-being of local communities, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable practices, social responsibility, and collaborative partnerships. Through these endeavours, the company aspires to contribute to the prosperity and development of the region, ensuring a brighter future for its people.
