Srinagar, July 31: In a significant stride towards fostering transparency and institutional engagement, the Government Degree College (GDC) Soibugh Thursday unveiled its first-ever bi-annual newsletter, titled “The Campus Chronicle”. The newsletter was formally launched by the Deputy Commissioner (DC), marking a milestone in the college’s efforts to streamline internal and external communication.A statement issued here said that designed as a comprehensive communication platform, ‘The Campus Chronicle’ will highlight campus events, academic accomplishments, student achievements, and forthcoming initiatives, while also serving as a record of the institution’s vibrant academic and co-curricular life. “The launch of this newsletter reflects our unwavering commitment to transparency, collaboration, and intellectual growth,” said Prof. Roohi Jan, Principal of GDC Soibugh. “The Campus Chronicle is not merely a publication—it is a collective voice of our college community, and we are excited to share our journey with students, faculty and the wider public.” The inaugural edition includes curated articles covering recent academic events, student milestones, departmental activities, and important institutional developments. It also outlines future programmes and college initiatives aimed at holistic student development.Prof. Jan expressed heartfelt appreciation to the editorial board for their tireless efforts in compiling the first issue within a short time frame. “I am deeply grateful to the editorial team—Dr Imtiyaz Ahmad Wani, Dr Suzain Rashid, and Dr Osia Majid—for their exceptional dedication and teamwork. Their efforts have ensured the newsletter’s timely release and high-quality content,” she added. The launch event was attended by faculty members, students, and staff, who welcomed the initiative as a positive step toward building a more connected and informed campus environment.
