DC Gbl inspects facilities at transit camp Wandhama

Takes stock of work at Yatri Niwas, Kheer Bhawani Temple

Ganderbal, March 22: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, Saturday conducted an inspection of the Transit Camp at Wandhama to review the ongoing works and assess the facilities being provided to PM Package employees residing there.
Accompanied by SSP Ganderbal, Ragav S, Additional Deputy Commissioner Gulzar Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer R&B, Executive Engineer KPDCL, EO Municipality, Tehsildar Tulmulla, and other concerned officials, the DC took stock of key amenities at the camp, including water supply, power, roads, parking, and sanitation. During the visit, the DC interacted with families of migrant employees who shared their concerns regarding various issues. He assured them of timely redressal and issued necessary directions to the concerned departments to address their grievances at the earliest. Emphasizing the importance of infrastructure development, the DC instructed the Executive Engineer R&B to take necessary measures for improving the inner road network and ensure the timely completion of the project. Later the DC visited the construction site of Yatri Niwas at Mata Kheer Bhawani Temple in Tulmulla to assess the progress of the ongoing work.
The Executive Engineer REW briefed him on the project details, informing that the upcoming G+2 framed structure will significantly address space constraints during the annual Mela Kheer Bhawani and will accommodate around 1,000 yatris at a time. The DC directed him to expedite the work and ensure timely completion of the Yatri Niwas to facilitate pilgrims effectively. Meanwhile, the DC also reviewed the arrangements for upcoming Navratra festival. The officials were directed to ensure adequate availability of essential services, including power and water supply and sanitation measures at Kheer Bhawani Temple and Transit Camp Wandhama to facilitate smooth observance of the festival.
