Officers presented updates against targets.DC impressed upon all the officers to put in extra efforts aimed at eradicating the drug menace in the district. He also stressed to conduct special awareness camps for the vulnerable segments of the society viz. transport, street vendors and the youth. He directed the tehsil level machinery to gear up for identification of hot spots with immediate destruction of wild bhung and poppy cultivation wherever reported and initiate legal action against the culprits. It was informed that all the medical shops have installed CCTV cameras with 95 percent Computerised Billing System. Highlighting the responsibility of the parents in safeguarding the future of their children, DC emphasised for organising monthly Parent-Teacher meetings in all govt and private schools mainly to discuss the menace apart from the other issues. It was also impressed upon the participants to work for declaration of Nasha mukt panchayat for a healthy competition between the panchayats in making Kupwara a drug free district.
