Baramulla, Dec 07: In order to finalize the action plan for saturation of Aadhar cards and mandatory biometric update in all age groups, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed SehrishAsgaron Wednesday chaired a District Level Adhar Monitoring Committee at her office chamber here.
The officers of Education Department, Health, Social Welfare besides representatives of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) were present in the meeting.
On the occasion, Dr SehrishAsgar held a threadbare deliberation about a mechanism to be adopted for Aadhaar saturation in all age groups and mandatory biometric update of children in the district.
The concerned officers informed the chair that AdharEnrollment process stands at 81% besides briefed her about the status of Aadhar Seva Kendras operating in the district.The DC was also briefed on the initiatives being undertaken to cover the age groups of 0-5 years, 5-18 years and above 18 years in the district.
Terming the Aadhaar enrolment a multi-agency process, the DC called upon all concerned departments to saturate the remaining AdharEnrollment Process in the district besides launching mass awareness campaigns in their jurisdictions to cover all population under Aadhar enrolment.
Dr Sehrish on the occasion said that Aadhar has a tremendous potential and scope in curbing cyber frauds. She urged the uncovered populace to get Aadhar enrolled as it is mandatory to avail benefits of various government schemes.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Dr Zahoor Ahmad Raina, Assistant Commissioner Revenue Peerzada Mumtaz Ahmad, Chief Medical officer Dr Bashir Ahmad Malik,Dy Chief Education officer Balbir Singh Raina,Dy SP Head Quarter Baramulla and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
