DC Bandipora reviews ‘Swachta Hi Seva’, ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaigns

Bandipora, Sep 26: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmad Tuesday convened a review meeting to assess the progress of the ongoing ‘Swachta Hi Seva’ and ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ campaigns.
During the meeting, a detailed assessment of the progress made in the ‘Swachta Hi Seva’ campaign was conducted, analyzing the cleanliness drives, waste management initiatives, and sanitation awareness programs that have been implemented across the district.
It was given out that the ‘Swachta Hi Seva’ campaign aims to create a cleaner and healthier environment for all citizens and has so far witnessed healthy participation and enthusiasm from local communities.
Dr Owais, on the occasion, sought a list of the activities being undertaken by all Block Development Officers across all panchayats in the district.
The DC directed for holding mega events at all block levels. He also urged the involvement of youth icons, public and religious personalities for the promotion of Swachhta Pakhwada (Sawachta Hi Seva) campaign, thereby achieving the goals of the campaign effectively.
He also directed the concerned for cleanliness around religious places, tourist locations including Gurez, Habba Khatoon spring, Athwatooo, Wular vintage and other places including Gulshan Chowk Bandipora, all the mosques, temples and shrines in the district besides roads.
He further directed that cleanliness of Nallah Madhumati, Arin Nallah, and Wular along with streams should be prioritized besides health institutions.
Dr Owais, on the occasion, informed that, as part of ongoing Swachtwa Pakhwada, one-hour safai abhiyaan (Ek Tareek Ek Ghanta) shall be held on October 1st in all the panchayats across the district.
The Meri Mati Mera Desh campaign was also reviewed during which strategies for strengthening this campaign were discussed threadbare.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Bandipora, Ali Afsar Khan; Nodal Officer Coordination, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak; JD Planning, ACP Bandipora, BDOs, EO MC Bandipora, Hajin besides other concerned officials.
