Srinagar, Sep 25: Kashmir is set to host its largest-ever teen game ‘Jam Hackathon’ with daydream Srinagar, co-hosted by Almuqeet Systems. The two-day event, designed to introduce students to coding, creativity, and game development, will take place on September 27-28 at Sarovar Premiere, inside City Mall, Srinagar and is free for all participants aged 13 to 18. A statement issued here said that ‘Daydream Srinagar’ will kick off with beginner-friendly workshops, where students will learn how to design and build games. Following the workshops, participants will form teams and compete in a hackathon to create their own games, with winners receiving exciting prizes. “This is the first time an event of this scale is happening in Kashmir just for teenagers,” said Daamin Ashai, Lead Organizer of Daydream Srinagar. “We want to make sure that Kashmiri students are at par with students from around the world in every field. Daydream Srinagar provides that opportunity to the youth of Kashmir.” The event is affiliated with Hack Club, a US-based nonprofit that helps students worldwide learn to code by building real projects. While similar game jam hackathons have been held globally, Daydream Srinagar marks the largest student-led coding event ever hosted in the valley. The hackathon is powered by Almuqeet Systems, Microsoft-owned GitHub, Jukebox, Yubico, SNTPL, Sarovar Premiere (Srinagar), and Rising Kashmir, whose support makes the event possible. Participation is completely free, with meals, mentorship, and resources provided to all attendees.
