CUK’s deptt of Physical Edu holds workshop

Ganderbal, Apr 15: Department of Physical Education, Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organised a one-day workshop “Mental Health for University Students.”
In his message, Vice-Chancellor, Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, highlighted the importance of conducting workshops focused on mental health.
In his address, Dean, School of Education, Prof. Syed Z.A. Geelani, emphasized the need to address mental health issues in academic settings. Dr. Kaukab Azeem, HoD, provided an overview of the workshop, outlining its objectives and structure.
Keynote speaker, Dr. Varghese C. Anthony, High Performance Director at the National Centre of Excellence, Sports Authority of India, CRC, Bhopal, shared valuable insights on mental resilience and performance.
The second speaker, Dr. Zornitza Mladenova, Co-founder and CEO of Global Diplomatic Magazine in Bulgaria, delivered an online lecture on global perspectives regarding mental health support systems.
Dr. Kovatcheva, Research Policy Director at the University of Library Studies and Information Technologies in Bulgaria, discussed research-based strategies for mental well-being.
In his address, Prof. Shahid Rasool, Dean Academic Affairs, provided context to the mental health discourse specific to the university and highlighted the importance of addressing mental health stigmas, particularly in the context of Kashmir.
The second session focused on “Volleyball Prospects in the Modern Era,” led again by Dr. Varghese C. Anthony and coordinated by Dr. Mohammad Muqarram, Assistant Prof. Dr. Pratheepa C.S., Assistant Prof. was the workshop rapporteur, while Dr. Abdul Roof Rather, Assistant Prof. proposed the vote of thanks.
The event proceedings were conducted by Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah, Assistant Prof.
