Ganderbal, Dec 31: Department of Convergent Journalism (DCJ), Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organized an online session on “J&K Youth in the making of Viksit and Sashkt Bharat” on Sunday.
The session was conducted by Dr. Varinder Bhatia, Vice-Chairman, Punjab School Education Board. Dean Academic Affairs (DAA) and SOMS, Prof. Shahid Rasool, HoD, Dr. Arif Nazir, faculty members, students and scholars attended it.
Addressing the participants, Dr. Virender said, the youth of India, being the country’s most important demographic dividend, have to play an important role in realizing the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of making the country a developed nation in 2047. He said India being in its “transitional stage” has to face many challenges, however, an active role of youth would definitely help the country tackle them.
Stressing on the importance of effective educational systems, he said, “Quality education, as envisaged in NEP-2020, should be one of the important areas of focus and effective educational systems need to be applied at all levels of education in India”. Dr. Varinder stressed on the importance of “environmental considerations” in the process of transforming India into a developed country. Dr. Varinder said that youth in today’s India have shifted their interests from being “employment seekers” to “employment creators” and the process has resulted in the emergence of hundreds of successful startups across the country.
About the role that J&K youth have to play for the progress of the region and the country, he said,” Like youth of other parts of India, J&K youth have to choose their individual roles and dedicate themselves entirely towards the cause so that a positive change could be brought at a faster pace in J&K”.
Speaking at the session, DAA and Dean SOMS, Prof. Shahid Rasool asked the participants to take such events seriously and contribute in the process of making India a developed country by 2047. “These events provide students with an opportunity to understand the significance of Ideas of Vision-Viksit Bharat@2047 campaign launched by the Honorable Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and help them to identify the nature of contributions that they can make at individual levels to make this dream come true”.
HoD DCJ, Dr. Arif Nazir, said, “Dr. Varinder has a lot of achievements to his credit and having such an expert on the session is a delightful experience”.
Dr. Nooka Raju, Asst Prof organized and coordinated the session and Dr. Asif Khan, Sr. Asst Prof moderated the session. Dr. John Babu Koyye Sr. Asst Prof was present. Dr. Nayeem presented the vote of thanks and Dr. Akhter Bhat, Asst Prof. was the rapporteur.
