CUK bids fond farewell to distinguished faculty & officer

Vice-Chancellor,  Deans hail invaluable service to the University

Ganderbal, Aug 31: The Central University of Kashmir (CUKashmir) organised a farewell ceremony to honour three senior members of its academic and administrative community—Prof. Fayaz A. Nikka, Dean, School of Business Studies, Prof. M. Yousuf, Dean, School of Physical and Chemical Sciences, who retired on attaining the age of superannuation; and Dr. Tanveer A. Shah, Controller of Examinations, who concluded his deputation and returned to the University of Kashmir.As per a statement issued here, the occasion was graced by Vice-Chancellor Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, alongside senior functionaries including Dean Academic Affairs and I/c Registrar Prof. Shahid Rasool; Dean International Affairs Prof. Sandhya Tiwari; Dean, School of Legal Studies Prof. Farooq Ahmad Mir; Dean, School of Education Prof. Syed Zahoor Ahmad Geelani; Dean, School of Life Sciences Prof. Abid Hameed; and Prof. C. Naseema, Professor of Education and Controller of Examinations (designate). Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ravinder Nath praised the trio’s contribution, stating: “Universities are shaped by the selfless commitment and untiring efforts of individuals like Prof. Fayaz A. Nikka, Prof. M. Yousuf, and Dr. Tanveer A. Shah. Their distinguished service has left an indelible mark on the University’s journey, and we remain indebted to their legacy.” He expressed confidence that the high standards set by Dr. Shah would continue seamlessly under the stewardship of Prof. C. Naseema. Deans and senior colleagues also commended the departing members for their scholarship, professional integrity and unwavering commitment to the institution. In their response, Prof. Nikka, Prof. Yousuf and Dr. Shah expressed gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor for introducing the tradition of formal farewells, describing it as a dignified gesture that fosters respect, strengthens institutional bonds and inspires younger faculty to embrace values of service and dedication.
