Srinagar, March 19: The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), India’s largest paramilitary force, Wednesday celebrated its 86th Raising Day with grand events across the country. The main function was held at GC Humhama on Srinagar outskirts, attended by Rajesh Kumar, ADG J&K Zone, who paid tribute to martyrs, honoured officers and men with DG’s Disc and Commendation.
Mitesh Jain, IG CRPF, Pawan Kumar Sharma, IG CRPF Srinagar Sector, all DIsG of Sector (Srinagar) along with commandants and officers of all units duly attended the celebration. Honouring its rich legacy since its formation on July 27, 1939, the CRPF has played a pivotal role in ensuring the internal security of the nation. From counter-insurgency and anti-terrorism operations to disaster relief and peacekeeping missions, the force has remained steadfast in its duty.
During the celebrations, ADG J&K Zone Rajesh Kumar, in his address, praised the unwavering dedication of CRPF personnel. Medals for gallantry were awarded to officers and jawans for their exemplary contributions. A spectacular parade, showcasing the force’s discipline and operational capabilities, was a key highlight of the event. On this occasion, the CRPF reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the nation with courage, integrity, and professionalism. Rajesh Kumar, ADG J&K Zone inaugurated newly constructed recreation room and the celebration was concluded with Bada Khana.
