Srinagar, Sept 07: Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board chairperson, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi visited Jinab Sahib Soura on Sunday and paid obeisance at the shrine. She inspected the ongoing construction work here, including the new Grand Mosque.
Several allied projects are simultaneously underway alongside the mosque construction, the Board said in a statement issued here, adding that the mega project, which was launched a few months ago, is expected to be completed soon.
The engineering team briefed the Waqf Chairperson about the current status of the construction. She directed the team to increase working shifts to ensure the early completion of this grand project.
Speaking on the occasion, Andrabi said the commitment and dedication drive the Board’s efforts. “Nothing can stop us from the good work we are doing,” she asserted. “We are committed to the development and glorification of our religious centres at all costs. The transparency and accountability within the Waqf system, along with the remarkable development, have disturbed many critics. However, the majority of the people are pleased, which energises us to continue our mission.”
Dr Darakhshan assured that all ongoing works will be completed soon. She also reviewed arrangements for devotees visiting the shrine complex during the month-long Milad celebrations, and called for providing proper facilities for pilgrims during this auspicious period.
