Cluster University Srinagar organises Inter College Road Race-2024

Srinagar, July 9: Cluster University of Srinagar on Tuesday Morning organized a spirited Road Race from Nishat to Duck Park along the foreshore Road.
The Race was flagged off by the Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University Srinagar, amidst fervent cheers and enthusiasm from participants and spectators alike.
The Road Race witnessed an impressive turnout of students, faculty, and staff members both from CUS and its affiliated/constituent colleges.
Among the registered aspirants more than 150 students (Boys & Girls) participated actively and displayed their strength and endurance throughout the race and marked their presence in the celebration of athleticism, camaraderie and healthy competition.
Hazim Nabi from Amar Singh College won the Inter College Road Race (Men) 2024 while as Bilal Altaf from S.P. College and Bilal Ahmad from Amar Singh College clinched the second and third positions respectively.
In Women’s category Sana from AAAM College Bemina clinched first position while as Benazir from Govt. College for Women M.A. Road and Aafreen from Amar Singh College got second and third positions respectively.
An extraordinary felicitation ceremony was observed after the completion of the race in Duck Park Srinagar, the proceedings of which were carried out by the Physical Director S.P. College Mr. Qayoom Gul.
In his message V.C highlighted the importance of sports in one’s life and the initiatives taken by the university for the accomplishment of students’ endeavours in games and Sports.
He emphasized the significance of sports and physical activities in fostering holistic development among students. He applauded the efforts of the Sports Secretary of CUS and the role of Physical Director of the constituent/affiliated Colleges for organizing such an exhilarating event and encouraged everyone to actively engage in sports for a balanced lifestyle.
Speaking on the occasion Registrar Prof. Dr.Villayat Hussain Rizvi appreciated the functioning of the Sports wing and the efforts of all stake holders and admired the able guidance of the Head of the Institution.
All the participants were awarded with the certificates of Merit/Participation. Top Ten Athletes were specially felicitated with medals and the first three toppers with the trophies and a cash prize of Rs/3000=, Rs/2000= and Rs/1000= respectively.
The award ceremony ended with the vote of thanks extended by the Sports Secretary Prof. Muneer Ahmad Mir to all the stakeholders especially the Medical Team deputed by CMO Srinagar and the extraordinary Traffic and security arrangements by Sr. Superintendent of Police Srinagar.
