Jammu, June 30: The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) J&K UT Council organised “She Leads”, Women Leadership Summit at Jammu on Sunday, bringing together prominent figures and inspiring women from diverse fields to discuss and celebrate women’s empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chief Guest of the function Ms. Sheetal Nanda, Commissioner/Secretary, Women and Social Welfare Department, J&K, delivered a powerful address, emphasizing the importance of women’s empowerment in building a progressive society. She highlighted various government initiatives like pension schemes, scholarship schemes, and other crucial programs aimed at improving the lives of women in J&K.
Ms. Indu Kanwal Chib, Mission Director, JKRLM, Government of J&K shed light on the Safal scheme and the Umeed scheme, emphasizing their role in empowering women through financial inclusion and promoting their participation in economic activities. She also highlighted the increasing number of women engaging in financial activities, demonstrating a positive shift in their economic independence.
Dr. MA Alim, Vice Chairman, CII J&K UT Council , welcomed the panellists and attendees and while welcoming he said that CII J&K committed towards creating an ecosystem of developing and nurturing women leadership in J&K.
Ms. Tabhish Habib, Founder & CEO, Curio Lifestyle & Prism Creation, moderated the panel discussion and raised pertinent issues and concerns related to women empowerment and leadership with reference to J&K.
