Budgam, Aug 13: : Residents of Churmujroo village in the Beerwah Tehsil have urged the Government to construct a fencing wall around the Primary Health Centre located in their area.
According to the locals, while the construction of the health centre building has been completed and it is now operational, a fencing wall surrounding the facility has yet to be erected.
Imtiyaz Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Churmujroo village, told Rising Kashmir that the Government has invested a significant amount of money in the establishment of the Primary Health Centre, which has provided considerable relief to people from various nearby villages.
“The health centre is positioned along the main road, and there is an urgent need for a protection wall around it to ensure the safety of the building,” he said..
Sheikh said that stray dogs are often found resting in the vicinity of the health centre, posing an additional concern for patients seeking treatment.
“During nighttime, anyone can access the premises of the health centre, as the building remains closed in the evenings,” he added.
The locals have also appealed to the Director of Health Services Kashmir and the Deputy Commissioner of Budgam to address the issue of constructing a fencing wall around the health centre.
An official from the Budgam health department assured that this matter would be brought to the notice of higher authorities for the necessary action regarding the construction of a fencing wall around the health facility.
