Budget-2024 to boost youth & women’s workforce participation

Srinagar, July 23: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has lauded the Union Budget for 2024-2025, calling it a transformative blueprint for India’s growth. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister NarendraModi and Finance Minister NirmalaSitharaman, Sinha emphasized the budget’s focus on empowering various segments of society, including the middle class, youth, women, and farmers.

In a statement, Sinha described the budget as a catalyst for “intensified economic growth” and “far-reaching reforms” aimed at achieving ‘Viksit Bharat’. He highlighted that the budget would enhance the ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and ‘Ease of Living,’ reflecting a commitment to both economic progress and quality of life improvements.

The Lieutenant Governor praised the budget’s emphasis on employment, skilling, and support for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He noted that the nine identified priorities would generate substantial opportunities and drive social equity, accelerating progress across the nation.

Sinha also commended the budget for its plans to advance rural development and agricultural infrastructure. He pointed out that the focus on productivity and resilience in agriculture, coupled with initiatives in natural farming and oilseeds production, would benefit Jammu and Kashmir significantly. These measures are designed to promote inclusive growth for farmers and laborers, fostering development in both rural and urban areas.

Further, Sinha highlighted the budget’s provisions for increasing youth participation and women’s involvement in the workforce, which aligns with the region’s aspirations for a prosperous future. The PradhanMantriJanjatiyaUnnat Gram Abhiyan, aimed at providing comprehensive support to tribal families, was also recognized as a pivotal initiative.
