Jammu, Sept 25: Asserting upon the BJP’s focus on 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister Amit Shah on Monday, urged the J&K BJP’s top leadership to gear up for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Amit Shah was speaking during a meeting with the core group of the J&K UT BJP held on Monday at BJP headquarters in New Delhi.
He said that the central leadership of the ruling BJP is all focussed on the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections while directing the Jammu and Kashmir’s (J&K) core group to pull up its socks and reach out to all sections of the society, especially “the beneficiaries” by making them aware of the welfare schemes of the Modi Government.
During the meeting, the J&K BJP core group also submitted a detailed report about the party’s activities and implementation of the organisational programmes being carried out in J&K.
Shah also sought detailed feedback about the political scenario from the BJP leaders in J&K as also the party’s ongoing programmes in JK UT.
He also sought a detailed report on the ground situation regarding people’s reaction towards BJP government’s policies and programmes.
Amit Shah, also sought the opinion of the leaders about holding of Urban Local Bodies (ULB) elections in J&K.
Devender Manyal, former J&K Health Minister and J&K BJP General Secretary, while quoting Amit Shah having said in the meeting, stated, “First of all, we have to work hard and reach out to the people with our government’s people friendly policies and programmes. We need to make people aware of our achievements and make sure that Narender Modi is again elected as Prime Minister of India with thumping majority.”
BJP National President, JP Nadda was also present in the meeting. During the meeting Amit Shah sought opinion of the top leadership of the UT regarding holding of ULB elections.
The J&K BJP leaders stated that the party was well prepared for the ULB and Panchayat elections.
BJP J&K UT President, Ravinder Raina, former Deputy Chief Ministers, Kavinder Gupta and Nirmal Singh, General Secretary (Organisation), Ashok Koul, union minister, Dr Jitendra Singh and others were also present in the meeting.
“We will meet BJP National President, JP Nadda and National General Secretary, Tarun Chugh later in the evening and apprise them about the general concerns of people in J&K, which must be addressed on priority,” Manyal said.
