Jammu, Apr 14: “The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre will leave no stone unturned for the equitable development of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory. This is evident from the fact that it is paying focused attention on equitable development besides welfare and prosperity of the people of this traumatised region,” said Rajiv Jasrotia, former minister and MLA of Jasrota constituency, on Monday.
Interacting with residents at Panchyats Panchayat Bhorthain North & Jakhole, he said assured them of getting their grievances addressed at the earliest by taking up them with the concerned authorities. He appealed to the people to further strengthen the hands of PM Narendra Modi for the equitable development of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory.
On the occasion, Jasrotia inaugurated and started development works worth Rs 25 lakh at Panchayat Bhorthain North including lanes and inauguration of Shiv Mandir Jakhole. He paid tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar on his birth anniversary.
The MLA reiterated its commitment to emulate the ideology of Dr Ambedkar for the economic uplift of the downtrodden and underprivileged in society, saying the Modi government has implemented several schemes for the empowerment of SCs and STs in the country during its 10-year rule.
“The BJP-led NDA government at the Centre has done a lot for the welfare of Dalits during its 10-month rule,” he said.
Jasrotia said Bthe JP is committed to equitable development of J&K. “The Union government is paying focused attention to Jammu and Kashmir and is determined to carry out developmental activities in every nook and corner of this sensitive region,” he said.
He said the Modi government at the Centre has prioritised the overall development of all the areas without any rural-urban or other discrimination. “Cleanliness is the basic necessity to maintain optimum health of the people living in their area and proper sanitation is inevitable to augment the efforts towards cleanliness. The government will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the proper sanitation infrastructure like drains, etc along all the lanes and roads,” he said.
The MLA highlighted the policies and initiatives undertaken by the Modi government in transforming J&K, saying substantial progress has been made in infrastructure development, economic growth, and social upliftment.
“The government’s efforts in improving connectivity through major projects, and implementing various welfare schemes have significantly contributed to the region’s development, fostering a new era of opportunities and progress for its residents,” he added.
Jasrotia said development which took place in J&K under BJP government led by PM Modi is “matchless”. “Every road, street, nook and corner of the UT speaks itself about the remarkable progress which this region has made after BJP took over the reign,” he said.
