Srinagar, Mar 09: Birla Open Minds International School hosts talk show on “Women Empowerment” with Kamal Sisodia.
Kamal Sisodia is serving as 2nd in Command in 76 BN CRPF. She is a renowned International Motivational Speaker who has conducted numerous workshops on Women empowerment, Right thinking, healthy life and management.

The event was specially dedicated to women, which added a charm to the programme. “Women consider themselves subservient to men. Girls have to realise their potential and what they want in life,” said Kamal Sisodia.
Despite a great deal of progress, women and girls continue to face discrimination and violence in every part of the world. She spoke about how this inequality exists in society irrespective of class or culture.

She said that even in books or families, there were certain roles that women were expected to play and they had accepted that because it was “ingrained in them”.

From addressing issues like colourism, child marriage, dowry, to talking about judging women for their personal choices like choosing a partner, getting married to a man younger than them – have paved the way for empowering thousands of women in Indian households.

Through this interaction on the talk show, women realized that they were more than just receivers of knowledge. Their constant quest for answers produced knowledge that
fostered their humanity and led them to new meanings, which in turn became the catalyst
for personal transformation and conscious actions.

Principal of the school Mrs. Aparana Kohli in her speech appreciated the staff & students for taking up Women Empowerment as the main agenda by bomis students during 2023-2024. She also said empowered women and girls contribute to the health and productivity of their families, communities, and countries, creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone.
