Jammu, Jan 08: The holy ‘Akshat’ (rice) in Kalash along with an invitation has been sent to Jammu by the Ayodhya Ram Janambhoomi Trust to all the 77 shakhas (branches) of the RSS in Jammu region for their onward distribution among the people.
“The RSS and the Vishav Hindu (VHP) have so far sent the holy ‘Akshat’ in Kalash along with an invitation to around 100 major temples of Jammu region,” Seh Karyavah (General Secretary) of Govind Nagar Shakha of the RSS, Mahesh Sharma informed Rising Kashmir.
From the temples, the holy Akshat will be given to the people residing in the vicinity of a particular temple as also among those visiting the temples to pay their obeisance.
The major temples of Jammu to which the holy Akshat has been sent include the region’s most revered Raghunath Ji temple, historic Ranbireshawar temple, App Shambu temple at Roop Nagar, Panjbakhtar Mandir, Kol Kandoli temple at Nagrota, Vaishno Devi, Narsingh temple at Kagwal in Samba and Cheechi Mata temple.
The RSS and VHP have ensured that each temple across the Jammu region covers every household so that all the people get Akshat and an invitation sent by the Ayodhya Ram Janambhoomi Trust, Sharma said.
He said the distribution of the holy Akshat from the temples will continue till January 15, 2024, while more temples will also be included along with the invitation and the picture of Ram Temple coming up at Ayodhya.
The people can use the Akshat on auspicious occasions like marriage functions, birthdays, celebrations of festivals, etc, Mahesh added.
