Srinagar, July 31: The Traffic Police Headquarters, Jammu and Kashmir, has issued a comprehensive travel advisory for commuters and transporters across the region, with specific focus on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) and other key routes, in view of ongoing repair works, narrow road stretches, and religious Yatra movements.According to an advisory, traffic plan s and advisory for August 1, subject to fair weather and road conditions, Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) convoys, LMVs, passenger vehicles, and private cars will be allowed from both directions on NH-44. However, HMVs will only be allowed on alternate days, depending on clearance from traffic control units (TCUs) in Jammu, Srinagar and Ramban.“Cut-off timings for LMVs/passenger vehicles–Nagrota (Jammu) to Srinagar: 0600 hrs to 1200 hrs and Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar: 0700 hrs to 1300 hrs, Qazigund to Jammu: 1130 hrs to 1400 hrs. Vehicles will not be permitted to move before or after these timings,” the advisory reads, adding that HMVs/load carriers will be allowed to move from Jakheni (Udhampur) to Srinagar after assessing the situation, with no HMV allowed post 1900 hrs. “All such movements require coordination with TCU Ramban,” it said.The advisory read further that in view of the ongoing Amarnath Yatra, tankers carrying petrol, diesel, LPG, empty LPG cylinder trucks, FCI vehicles and other designated 10-tyre vehicles returning to Jammu are directed to use the Mughal Road only. “Budha Amarnath Ji Yatra – 2025–all concerned are requested to refer to Yatra advisory. Route-Specific Updates–Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (NH-244): Subject to clearance from NHIDCL and weather conditions, LMVs and HPSVs will be allowed in both directions. Timings are as follows: PP Parana to Anantnag: 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs, PP Daksum to Kishtwar: 0900 hrs to 1500 hrs, only designated HPSVs will be allowed as per orders issued by SDMs of Chhatroo and Kokernag.”For Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri (SSG) Road, with BRO clearance, LMVs followed by HMVs will be allowed. “From Minamarg to Srinagar: 0500 hrs to 1000 hrs. From Sonamarg to Kargil: 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed beyond the cut-off time. Security Forces convoys must plan their movement to avoid disruption to Yatra convoys. Mughal Road: subject to GREF clearance and fair weather, LMVs and private cars will be allowed in both directions. HMVs up to 10 tyres will be allowed from Shopian to Poonch between 0700 hrs and 1800 hrs via Behramgala and Herpora,” the advisory reads, adding that travellers are advised to confirm the status of roads before beginning their journey by contacting the following Traffic Control Units: Jammu: 0191-2459048, 0191-2740550, 9419147732, 103, Srinagar: 0194-2450022, 2485396, 18001807091, 103, Ramban: 9419993745, 1800-180-7043, Udhampur: 8491928625, PCR Kishtwar: 9906154100 and PCR Kargil: 9541902330, 9541902331
