As Jhelum swells, Admin says closely monitoring situation

Contingency plans in place: Div Com, asks people not to venture near water bodies

As Jhelum water level crossed flood declaration mark at Ram Munshi Bagh, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg Wednesday said that the administration is closely monitoring the situation and contingency plans are in place.

According to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the divisional commissioner said, “In view of prevailing weather conditions, Jhelum water level at Ram Munshi Bagh, Srinagar have crossed alert level. Field teams are closely monitoring the situation and contingency plans are in place.”

Garg advised people to exercise caution and not venture near water bodies.

Meanwhile, the administration issued the emergency contact numbers Viz 112/6005953255.

The divisional administration further said that in view of the prevailing situation, the general public is advised to contact on UT Level Emergency Operation Centre at  01942502254 & 01942950767/10170 for any assistance.—(KNO)
