Jammu, Aug 31: The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah reached Jammu on Sunday on a special flight from Ahmedabad.
Amit Shah is on a two day visit to Jammu during which he will visit the flood affected areas of the region. He will also chair a high level review meeting on flood relief measures at Raj Bhawan.
The Home Minister will also conduct aerial survey of the flood affected areas of Jammu, sources said. All the high officials have been directed to be present in the flood review meeting being chaired by the Home Minister, they said.
The Home Minister will also tour flood-affected areas of Katra, the base camp of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi, and Kishtwar to assess damages caused by the recent flash floods and cloudbursts.
A team of the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) will also accompany the Home Minister.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, senior MHA and UT administration officials will attend the flood review meeting and brief the Home Minister about damages, relief and rescue operations and restoration of infrastructure across the Jammu region.
