Srinagar, Jul 10: Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) has announced the approval of Rs 336 crore worth of road projects under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for Baramulla parliamentary constituency.AIP Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi, in a statement issued here, termed it a major developmental breakthrough proposed by jailed Member of Parliament (MP) and AIP president Engineer Rashid.“Despite being unjustly jailed since 2019 in Tihar, Engineer Rashid’s resolve to serve the people of Jammu & Kashmir remains unshaken. This approval stands as proof of his foresight and deep-rooted connection with the grassroots,” he said. The sanctioned projects include Rs 101 crore for Kupwara, Rs 120 crore for Bandipora, Rs 103 crore for Baramulla, and Rs 12 crore for Budgam. Once completed, these roads will provide critical all-weather connectivity to remote areas, helping boost access to education, healthcare, markets and other essential services.Inam Un Nabi added, “This is not just a developmental milestone, it is a political message: jail walls cannot cage Engineer Rashid’s spirit when he carries people’s pain and hope in his heart.”He commended the dedication of Er Rashid’s team for their tireless efforts in pursuing the projects and ensuring his vision is translated into action, even in his absence. The AIP urged authorities to ensure the timely execution of the approved projects and reaffirmed its commitment to justice, development and people’s empowerment.
