Srinagar,Apr 11: With J&K already in the limelight for Real Kashmir FC performance, Downtown FC and recognition at the National level, the renewed support and resolve of the All-India Football Federation (AIFF) shall go a long way in strengthening the game at the grass root level in the Union Territory (UT).This was stated by former India footballer and member technical of the AIFF, Arun Malhotra while expressing his views with regard to the visit of the top AIFF officials to Srinagar.
“Since I am witness to the happening in the AIFF, especially concerning my home state of J&K, the visit of President, Kalyan Chaubey and secretary general, Dr Shaji Prabhakaran would go a long in changing the football scenario in the UT,” said Arun.
Besides meeting the LG, Manoj Sinha and other top functionaries of the J&K Sports Departments, the visiting delegation of the AIFF had interaction and detailed discussions with the elected representatives of the J&K Football Association from the district level yesterday at Srinagar.
“The AIFF wants JKFA to set in place their organizational structure by setting up the district units and the central body at the earliest so that development activities take place without any more delay,” mentioned Arun.
It has been learned that the chairman of the JKFA election committee, Wasim Aslam has assured the visiting AIFF officials of completing the election process by the next month.
“Speaking to the gathering of DFA representatives and the AIFF top officials, chairman of the JKFA election committee has assured of a competent and undisputed JKFA within a month. So, we look forward for a new era of football in J&K,” said Arun, expressing his happiness over the development back home.
