New Delhi, Mar 22: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is hosting an awareness workshop at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) on Monday to educate students of BBA, BCA, and BMS programmes in AICTE-approved colleges about various scholarship schemes, with a special focus on SARSWATI and YASHASVI.
The workshop will be inaugurated by Dr Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman of AICTE, who will address the attendees as the Chief Guest. These scholarship schemes are designed to empower and support students, especially girls, in their academic pursuits. The SARSWATI Scholarship was launched specifically to encourage female students to pursue BBA, BCA, and BMS degrees, while the YASHASVI scheme provides further opportunities for students in technical education.
During the workshop, participants will gain insight into the various AICTE-funded scholarships, including eligibility criteria, application processes, and the benefits of these schemes. Dr Abhay Jere will provide detailed information on these scholarships and highlight their importance in fostering educational growth and inclusivity.
The event will also feature key dignitaries such as Prof S.G. Bhirud, Vice Chancellor of COEP and B Venugopal Reddy (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Government of Maharashtra, who will grace the occasion and offer their support for the initiative. This workshop aims to strengthen awareness of scholarship opportunities, ensuring that deserving students are informed and equipped to take advantage of these beneficial programmes.
The AICTE SARSWATI Scholarship Scheme is designed for girl students pursuing BBA, BCA, and BMS education in AICTE-approved institutions, with an annual family income of less than Rs 8 lakh. Students admitted to the first year in the academic year 2024-25 are eligible to apply. The scholarship provides a lump sum amount of Rs 25,000 per annum for up to three years.
