Ganderbal, Sep 11: Advisor for Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS) and Professor NCERT, Dr N Upender Reddy on Monday expressed deepest appreciation to the district administration Ganderbal for taking a unique initiative ‘Mashal-e-Gaash’ that has witnessed “unprecedented progress”.
Dr Reddy was on a three-day visit to Ganderbal to assess the progress and effectiveness of the ‘Mashal-e-Gaash’ campaign in promoting literacy among illiterates of the district. The campaign has ignited the flame of knowledge and literacy in Ganderbal. It has not only provided education but also inculcated confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of empowerment among those who have taken their first steps towards literacy.
On the final day on Monday, the Advisor visited Mammer accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Shyambir, SDM Kangan, Program Officer ICDS, CEO and other officials, where he interacted with the beneficiaries of the campaign and other stakeholders including PRIs, SHG, teachers, Anganwadi Workers and students.
During the three-day visit, the Advisor evaluated various aspects of the campaign, including monitoring and evaluation mechanisms applied, people engagement, the availability of educational resources, the methodology applied and the engagement of illiterate people. He interacted with the beneficiaries, PRIs, teachers and students to gather feedback and understand the impact of the campaign on the ground.
On the occasion, DC Ganderbal highlighted the purpose of taking the initiative of ‘Mashal-e-Gaash’ campaign which has been a very successful program in terms of improving the literacy rate in the district. He complimented all the stakeholders for their collective efforts due to which the campaign was a success.
Speaking on the occasion, the Advisor said that it gives immense pleasure to listen to the incredible journey of ‘Mashal-e-Gaash’, a movement born out of collective determination to eradicate illiteracy from the midst.
Overall, the visit by the advisor for CIPS aimed to ensure that the ‘Mashal-e-Gaash’ literacy campaign is effectively implemented and making a positive impact on the literacy levels of the uneducated.
