Reasi, July 12: A joint mock drill on flood preparedness was conducted near Chenab River, Reasi, by NHPC Salal Power Station and district administration under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Malik, in coordination with CAPF and Police.A statement issued here said that the drill tested the early warning system and inter-departmental coordination. Scenarios included rising water levels, medical emergencies and evacuations. Quick Response Teams (QRTs) were activated and medical and evacuation drills were conducted. Departments performed designated roles, including medical aid, crowd control, transport and rescue. Present were ACR Reasi Nitin Verma, Tehsildar Thakrakote and representatives of NHPC, Police, NDRF and SDRF. The exercise showcased the region’s readiness and public awareness regarding flood risks.
