ACD Kishtwar leads sanitation drive under Swachhta Pakhwada in block Mughalmaidan

Kishtwar, Aug 04: In pursuance of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada under theme Shuchita Sangram campaign launched across the Union Territory, the Assistant Commissioner Development, Kishtwar, Phulail Singh on Sunday leads Sanitation Drive at Block Mughalmaidan to promote cleanliness, sanitation and community involvement in maintaining a clean environment.
The campaign commenced with an awareness camp at TRC Mughalmaidan, wherein the ACD emphasized the significance of cleanliness and sanitation in daily life.
He highlighted the importance of community participation in maintaining a clean environment and urged the people of Mughalmaidan to work together to make their block a model of cleanliness.
During the visit, the ACD launched a plantation drive, ‘Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam’, at Sigdi B2, as a tribute to the martyrs who have sacrificed their lives for the nation.
He also spearheaded the cleaning of legacy waste sites at TRC Mughalmaidan and littering hotspots near Tehsil office Mughalmaidan, main market and other areas.
Furthermore, an extensive drive was carried at the river side to collect the garbage and emphasize the need for sustained efforts to maintain cleanliness.
The ACD along with BDO Mughalmaidan extensively visited market and on spot issued notices to the defaulters under BNS, 2023 and SWM Rules 2016 for creating sanitation nuisance
The ACD further emphasized the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in water bodies, general market areas and public spaces. He interacted with shopkeepers and sanitary workers, stressing the need for adopting good sanitation behaviors and ensuring proper waste disposal.
The ACD Kishtwar urged the people of Mughalmaidan to strive for making their block a tourist destination, emphasizing that cleanliness and sanitation are essential for achieving this goal. He assured full support from the administration in this endeavor.
