Jammu, Jan 29: Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday said that the 220 days long protest of Jal Shakti department employees is proof of the government’s failure and instead of solving the problems of the employees, the government is gifting them sticks and arrests.
In a statement issued to Media, state spokesperson Jagdeep Singh said that Jal Shakti Department is the backbone of the society and the contractual employees like daily wagers working in it are the most important part of the department but unfortunately these employees in Jammu and Kashmir are on protest for the last two hundred and twenty days.
He said these employees are keeping their genuine demands for redressal but unfortunately the government is not fulfilling their demands and the employees have been protesting for the last 220 are still on protest sit-in.
Singh said instead of addressing the genuine demands of these employees, the government is hell bent on harassing them further and these employees are being gifted with sticks and arrests.
The Party leader justified all the demands of the employees and said that none of their demands are outside the ambit of law and each case is being taken up by employees according to law.
Singh further urged the Jammu and Kashmir government to resolve all the demands of the Jal Shakti Department employees by paying them salaries on time, regularisation of jobs and providing them with all the facilities like regular employees.
Reiterating the commitment of party, Jagdeep Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party has always stood in favour of these employees neglected by successive Governments in Jammu and Kashmir.
“Aam Aadmi Party has always advocated for redressal of grievances of employees in Jammu and Kashmir but unfortunately Government is non-serious about the issue and employees are at the receiving end.” he said.
