Baramulla, June 15: The Aarifeen School of Excellence (ASE) in Delina, Baramulla, kicked off its highly anticipated second annual sports day with a spectacular display of enthusiasm and fervor.
Over the course of three days, this event promises to be a thrilling extravaganza of athletic prowess and camaraderie.
Esteemed guests, including renowned international wheelchair basketball player Ishrat Akhtar, graced the occasion, adding a touch of prestige to the opening day’s festivities. Akhtar, an inspirational figure to many, lit the Olympic torch, symbolizing the spirit of competition and unity.
Notable among the distinguished guests was Dr. Tanveer Ahmad, the Director of Physical Education from Government Degree College (GDC) Baramulla, who graced the event as the chief guest. Dr. Tanveer’s presence emphasized the significance of physical education in nurturing well-rounded individuals.
The electrifying atmosphere of the sports day was set ablaze during the awe-inspiring Olympic torch ceremony. Ishrat Akhtar illuminated the flame, igniting the competitive spirit among the participants. The release of ASE balloons further enhanced the vibrant ambiance.
Following these memorable moments, a solemn oath ceremony took place, where young learners of ASE, participants, and staff members pledged to compete fairly and uphold the values of sportsmanship throughout the event.
With great anticipation, students eagerly participated in various athletic competitions, showcasing their immense talent and unwavering resilience.
The first day witnessed exhilarating races, including the splint race and hurdle race for both boys and girls, promoting healthy competition and pushing young athletes to surpass their limits.
Girls displayed their agility and skill in the hula hoop and sac races, while the highly anticipated tug of war event witnessed intense battles between both boys and girls. The standing broad jump showcased the participants’ explosive power and precise technique.
Adding a unique twist to the event, fathers of ASE students were invited to participate in events such as the javelin throw, sprint race, and tug of war.
This initiative aimed to foster family bonding and create a sense of community within the school.
Ishfaq Ahmad, a proud parent, expressed his gratitude to the school authorities for organizing such an inclusive event that not only celebrated the achievements of the students but also provided an opportunity for parents to actively engage in sports activities alongside their children.
Ahmad hoped that ASE would continue organizing similar events to promote physical strength and safety among the students.
Principal ASE Asma Sadiq, in her address to the students and parents, highlighted the school’s commitment to holistic development, emphasizing the importance of sports as an integral part of the educational process.
Asma Sadiq stated that ASE aims to nurture well-rounded individuals who excel academically and actively participate in athletic endeavors, representing their union territory and nation at the international level.
The meticulously organized sports day was spearheaded by the ASE Physical Education Department, under the leadership of Aadil Sher, Yasmeena Akhtar, and Jamsheed Bano.
Their dedication and efforts ensured the smooth execution of the event, creating an environment where students could thrive and showcase their talents.
As the second annual sports day of ASE continues over the next two days, students, parents, and faculty eagerly anticipate more thrilling competitions and opportunities for personal growth.
