Jammu, Feb 19: Gauri Shankar, a revered social activist from the Bani constituency, on Monday officially joined the Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) in the presence of its Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Azad commended Shankar’s “selfless endeavours” in providing free medical assistance to individuals irrespective of caste or religion. “Shankar’s dedication to serving humanity resonates with the values DPAP upholds, making his inclusion a valuable asset to the party,” he said.
He said Gauri Shankar’s decision to align with DPAP signals a notable stride in the party’s expansion and influence in the Jammu region. Recognizing Shankar’s considerable sway in the Bani constituency, Azad expressed confidence in DPAP’s electoral prospects with Shankar’s affiliation. He reiterated that the enthusiastic response from the people underscores their faith in the party’s pledge to transparent and accountable governance. Azad reaffirmed his commitment to serving the public with integrity and diligence, thereby reinforcing the party’s stronghold in the region.
