Jammu, July 02: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has pulled up its socks for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections and in this regard, three senior leaders from Jammu & Kashmir have been summoned by the party’s national president JP Nadda, while the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to visit the union territory in October.
BJP J&K UT president Ravinder Raina, the party’s national secretary from J&K, Dr Narinder Singh, and Ashok Koul, general secretary (Organisation) have been called by Nadda for holding discussions regarding the party’s preparations for the 2014 Parliamentary elections
“The J&K leaders have been called for a meeting on July 7 by JP Nadda. We will give feedback about the party’s preparations for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections and the organisational programmes being carried forward,” Raina told Rising Kashmir.
The development comes amid speculations that Raina might be replaced as J&K UT president before the Lok Sabha elections as the BJP is all set to make nationwide organisational changes in the party before the 2024 polls.
In response to these speculations, Raina also tweeted, “Tiger Abhi Zinda Hai”.
“The July 7 meeting is purely for discussing preparations for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and getting feedback from the J&K unit,” Raina said.
Meanwhile, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat is also scheduled to visit Jammu in the month of October. The details of his visit and programmes here in Jammu are not yet known as they are being finalised.
Bhagwat is scheduled to meet the senior RSS functionaries of J&K and hold discussions about J&K’s political scenario besides taking feedback on the Sangh’s functioning across J&K. He will also meet the senior BJP leaders of J&K and get feedback about the “positive developments” in J&K after the abrogation Article 370, a senior party leader said.
