Srinagar, May 14: Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi on Wednesday stressed the need for adopting alternative and sustainable energy solutions in Jammu and Kashmir while addressing an Invergy technical seminar organised by CStar Infra Solutions in Srinagar.
The seminar focused on innovative and sustainable energy solutions for consumers in Jammu and Kashmir and was attended by representatives from the energy sector, officials and other stakeholders.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Andrabi said there was a need to promote alternative energy resources, particularly solar power, to address power-related issues in the region. She highlighted the importance of the Prime Minister’s Surya Ghar Yojana and called for greater public awareness regarding renewable energy schemes and facilities.
She also urged private players in the sustainable energy sector to consider subsidising domestic solar installations to make such facilities more accessible for common consumers.
Several speakers, including representatives of Invergy and CStar Infra Solutions, discussed future energy solutions, public-private partnership and the scope of renewable energy in Jammu and Kashmir.
