Jammu, Aug 16: Extending greetings to the nation on the 78th Independence Day, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Executive Member Raman Suri on Friday said that under the decisive leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is not only celebrating freedom but also setting new benchmarks in security, economic growth, and self-reliance. “Independence Day is a reminder of our sacrifices and our shared responsibility to protect and strengthen the nation,” Suri said in a statement issued here. “Prime Minister Modi has sent a clear message to the world — terrorism will not be tolerated, and those who dare to harm our sovereignty will face a resolute and fitting response.”Highlighting key initiatives and policies that reflect the government’s vision for a stronger, more self-reliant India, Suri outlines that India will uphold its right to safeguard resources while sending a firm message against cross-border terror. He said surgical and strategic strikes to neutralise threats before they escalate have shown the world how strong India is emerging under the leadership of Narendra Modi.The BJP leader said the Prime Minister’s resolve that Made-in-India Fighter Jet Engines will dominate the world is a milestone in defence manufacturing, marking India’s leap towards full military self-reliance. The GST 2.0 by Diwali will not only simplify tax rates, less compliance burden, but also give a boost to trade and industry.Suri added that the Atmanirbhar defence push, as said by Narendra Modi from the ramparts of Red Fort, is aimed at expanding indigenous production of arms, ammunition, and high-tech defence systems and simultaneously Samudra Manthan’ Oil & Gas Mission will also unlock India’s offshore energy potential to reduce dependence on imports.The BJP leader, while lauding India’s growth graph, said that Modi has also assured of creating one crore jobs so that a nationwide drive to generate sustainable jobs in both traditional and emerging sectors is achieved.”These initiatives, combined with the spirit of self-reliance and national unity, will take India to unprecedented heights,” he said. “Our Prime Minister is not just leading a government — he is leading a movement to transform India into a global powerhouse that commands respect, not sympathy.”Suri added, “From our farmers to our soldiers, from our entrepreneurs to our youth, every citizen is part of this journey.
