Srinagar, Aug 31: The intelligence agencies have expedited the process to probe diversion of Kashmir University Teachers Association (KUTA) funds in 2016 for terror funding and appointment of a guest lecturer, believed to be an ISI agent, sources said here on Thursday.
Sources said the records reveal that one of the professors diverted KUTA funds to terrorists and their sympathizers in 2016.
“Not only this but the same professor in the capacity of HoD of one of the KU departments appointed Geremy Graham as guest lecturer in violation of all rules and without seeking the approval from the administrative department,” they said.
Graham, believed to be an ISI agent, later escaped mysteriously from Kashmir University and appeared on various international forums accusing India of committing human rights violations in Kashmir.
Sources added that all the records are being scrutinized by intelligence agencies and a final decision may be taken soon.
“Most of the evidence of anti-national activities has already been procured and guilt has to be established beyond the reasonable doubt,” they said.
Pertinently, the Government has adopted a zero tolerance policy for terror and terror related activities.
Sources said that some of the suspects whose activities were being monitored by the Intelligence agencies, have suddenly started distancing themselves from anti-national activities and to organize or participate in programmes on nationalism but only to hide their terror links.
On July 10, government ordered termination of 11 employees including two sons of Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin for their alleged involvement in anti-national and terrorist activities.
On 13 May 2022, Kashmir University professor among three government employees were dismissed for their terror links.
On 17 July, government terminated the service of Kashmir University PRO and 2 others for anti-national activities. (KNS)
