Srinagar, May 20: An unidentified person allegedly jumped into the river Jhelum from the historic Budshah Bridge in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk area on Wednesday evening, officials said.
According to officials, the incident occurred late in the evening, triggering an immediate response from law enforcement and emergency rescue agencies.
Soon after receiving information, police personnel rushed to the spot, while teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and River Police launched a search and rescue operation in the river.Officials said that the identity of the individual and the circumstances surrounding the incident were not immediately known.
