Srinagar ,May 20: Iqbal Park witnessed a major coordinated traffic decongestion drive on Wednesday, jointly carried out by the Srinagar Municipal Corporation and the Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police to streamline vehicular movement and enhance public convenience in the city’s busy commercial corridor.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of SP south Shabir Khan ,SDPO shaheed gunj Dheeraj kumar, along with the concerned officers.
During the drive, authorities focused on removing traffic bottlenecks, regulating roadside encroachments, ensuring proper parking discipline, and improving overall traffic flow along the stretch, which frequently witnesses heavy congestion during peak hours.
Officials stated that the initiative aims to provide smoother roads, better mobility, and safer commuting conditions for the public.
The teams also appealed to commuters, shopkeepers, and transport operators to cooperate with enforcement agencies and follow traffic regulations in the larger public interest.
The joint action reflects the administration’s continued efforts to strengthen urban traffic management and improve civic infrastructure across Srinagar city.
