Srinagar, June 24: In view of the ongoing rise in daytime temperatures, the Higher Education Department on Monday revised the summer vacation schedule for all Government Degree Colleges across the Kashmir Division.
According to an official order, summer break will now be observed from June 24 to July 3, 2025, replacing the previously notified dates of July 15 to July 24, 2025.
“In partial modification of Government Order No. 261-JK (HE) of 2025 dated 30-05-2025, it is hereby ordered that the summer vacation in all Government Degree Colleges of the Kashmir Division shall be observed from 24-06-2025 to 03-07-2025 instead of 15-07-2025 to 24-07-2025,” the order reads.
The decision comes amid persistent heatwave conditions in the Valley, with temperatures soaring well above seasonal averages.
