Srinagar, Mar 17: National Conference (NC) President, Dr Farooq Abdullah and Vice President & Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah pay tributes to late veteran leader and former LA Speaker, Shaheed Wali Muhammad Itoo, on the 31st anniversary of his martyrdom.
Describing Late Itoo as a true friend of the people, Dr Farooq and Omar praised his unwavering commitment to democracy, human dignity, and the public good. They highlighted his “selfless sacrifice” for the people and his dedication to upholding high moral principles.
Recognizing his “exceptional vision”, the duo highlighted Wali Muhammad Itoo’s pioneering efforts in rural development, particularly in South Kashmir districts like DH Pora. They commended his tireless work towards empowering rural youth, women, and farmers, aiming to alleviate poverty and bring about positive change in the region.
Other prominent leaders from the National Conference, including Ali Muhammad Sagar, Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Nasir Aslam Wani, Tanvir Sadiq, Choudhary Muhammad Ramzan, Abdul Rahim Rather, Mian Altaf Ahmed, Mubarak Gul, Shameema Firdous, Mian Altaf Ahmad, Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Imran Nabi Dar, Mushtaq Guroo, Mudassar Shahmiri, Salman Ali Sagar, and various other party members, also paid heartfelt tributes to the late Shaheed Wali Muhammad Itoo.
